Developing a pumped storage hydro project on Kauai's west side has been in discussion for nearly a decade. KIUC and The AES Corporation (AES) joined forces on a groundbreaking solar PV + Battery Energy Storage and pumped storage hydro project which will be the first of its kind in the world and is a critical component of Kauai's renewable energy future.
