Based on favorable financial results for 2025, Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative’s Board of Directors has voted to return $2.7 million in patronage capital retirement to members during the month of May. This is the largest retirement of patronage capital since 2018.
Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative’s incumbent directors Allan A. Smith and Jim Mayfield along with Bryson Ponce have been elected to the KIUC Board of Directors. These three directors will each serve for a 3-year term ending March 2029.

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for leeward areas of Kauai beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24 and extending through 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
