KIUC provides electrical service to Kauai – approximately 38,000 metered locations.
If you would like to start, stop or change your service, select the appropriate service application from the list below. Forms need to be downloaded and then filled out.

If you are applying for electrical service to an existing home, the following will be required:
- Residential Service Application Form or Commercial Service Application Form
- Copy of valid, government-issued photo ID and W9 if the account will be in a business name
- Credit Deposit – After your application has been processed, a representative will contact you with your account number, credit deposit amount and options for paying
- A Service Processing fee of $20.00 and Membership fee of $0.01 will be billed on your first month's bill
- Assumption Agreement for homes and businesses with existing photovoltaic (PV) systems or other generation
As you begin plans for construction, we encourage you to apply for service early in the process to prevent delays in connecting your service. During the construction phase, you will be billed at the Schedule G (temporary) rate. After the final County approval or certificate of occupancy is received, you will be eligible for residential (permanent) power rate.
The following are required before we can provide service:
- Residential New Construction Application Form or Commercial New Construction Application Form
- Residential Permanent New Construction Application Form or Commercial Permanent New Construction Application Form – print and sign
- Copy of valid, government-issued photo ID and W9 if the account will be in a business name
- Copy of County approved plot plan with an “x” marking the location of where the meter socket will be installed
- Copy of CPR map (if applicable)
- Credit Deposit of $40.00
- A Service Processing fee of $20.00 and Membership fee of $0.01 will be billed on your first month's bill
- A $250.00 material and labor charge is required if temporary service will not be in its permanent location
The change from temporary power to permanent power is the responsibility of the customer. Rates will not be adjusted retroactively.

To upgrade your electric service and/or to relocate your meter socket the following are required:
- Application for Meter Socket Upgrade and/or Relocation
- Copy of County approved plot plan with an “x” marking the location of where the meter socket will be installed
- Copy of CPR map (if applicable)

Only the account holder can stop service. Contact us by one of the following methods:
- Login to SmartHub and navigate to Contact Us > Report an Issue/Inquiry > Other Issues/General Inquiry and select Disconnect Service from drop down menu. Fill out the online form and click submit. A representative will contact you if more information is needed.
- Call 808.246.4300 during business hours
Disconnects are done between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday excluding holidays. Weekend and holiday disconnects are not available.
