Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative’s second draft Habitat Conservation Plan has been published by the Hawai‘i Environmental Review Program for a 60-day public comment period (August 23 – October 22, 2025). The draft Environmental Impact Statement for the HCP prepared by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has been published by the Hawai‘i Environmental Review Program for a 45-day public comment period (August 23 – October 7, 2025). The second draft HCP and the draft EIS has been published in the Federal Register for a 60-day public comment period (August 22 – October 21, 2025).
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued notice this morning that a Red Flag Warning (RFW) has been issued for the leeward areas of Kaua‘i and the island of Ni‘ihau, through 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1. NWS defines leeward to include the south shore areas of Mahaulepu, Kōloa and Po‘ipū and all areas west of Kōloa/Po‘ipū.
Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative announced today that Erin Tsuda has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Financial Vice President effective July 1.
Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative’s incumbent directors Jan TenBruggencate and Peter Yukimura along with Edmund Acoba have been elected to the KIUC Board of Directors. These three directors will each serve for a 3-year term ending March 2028.
